Mangave gonzaloi Malaysia each highlighted by a centralWe received xMangave gonzaloi in 2007, shortly after it was described as a new agave species in 2004, from a plant found in a European Botanic Garden. It was formally described as an agave, but once we saw it, it was obvious it actually represented a cross of Agave and Manfreda. xMangave gonzaloi forms a 12" tall x 18" wide rosette of thick green leaves adorned with dark purple spots. The leaf spines are more plastic like, resembling hybrids between
