The obverse features the bust of King George, encompassed by the inscription GEORGIVS V DEI GRA REX ET IND IMP. The bust is marked at the shoulder B. M for the obverse designer E. B. MacKennal. The reverse bears the Canadian coat of arms encompassed by a maple leaf wreath, above the wreath is the inscription CANADA, and the date 1913 and denomination FIVE DOLLARS are below the
