For a few minutes, they circle above the garden as though the whole evening has been waiting for them. This one appears to have abandoned the usual flight pattern entirely. Taken from a vintage etching, the dancing bat stretches across the soft cream glaze with wings open, one foot lifted, and no apparent concern for behaving like a respectable creature of the night. Made on our 12 ounce Companion
