Constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, the obverse consisting of a black enameled disc bearing a raised and silvered Stahlhelm, in turn bearing an engraved inscription of DER STAHLHELM flanked by an Iron Cross, above silvered oak leaves and a date of 1924, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and banjo style pinback meeting a round wire catch, engraved with an identification number of II.
