The text at the bottom reads, "Notice the big, black hat she never goes without it!" Who is "she"? The mystery and vagueness makes this work all the more appealing! Gee often drew inspiration from fashion magazines and advertisements. Peter Gee was a British born artist who rose to prominence as part of the 60s pop art movement in New York.
