This is an original 1894 halftone print showing the Voice of Independence, the Liberty Bell. This historic relic was displayed in the Pennsylvania State Building. The bell had been imported from England in 1758, but because of the crack, was recast in Philadelphia under the direction of Isaac Morris. He is said to have chosen the inscription that surrounds the bell near the top from Leviticus XXV. 10: "Proclaim liberty
