Ponderosa pine has this specific quality almost vanilla ish on the bark, deeply green in the needles, with a warmth that separates it from other evergreens. We built the scent around that warmth. The clove comes in underneath as a base note: spiced, slightly sharp, just enough to make the whole thing feel like a season rather than just a tree. It's cozy without being cloying.
