The image was taken late in the day and the angle of the late sun gave me every chance for a clean picture - almost all the background was in heavy shadow and three stops underexposed

There were challenges: it was extremely cold and we also needed to work with red tape because Telluride airport is commercial and the runway crew were righty prioritising snow clearing before accommodating a film crew
