Saxony, Kingdom. A War Commemorative Cross For 1866 certificate_of_authenticity one in rolled gold-coloured bullion(Erinnerungskreuz fr 1866). Instituted on 22 May 1867. A bronze cross patte with bundles of rays between each arm, the obverse centre presents the crowned monogram JR for Johannus Rex, surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves, the reverse centre presents the date 1866, bordered by a wreath of oak leaves, measuring 30. 11 mm (w) x 32. 33 mm (h), weighing 9. 5 grams, on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in near very fine condition.
